Purpose
The Japan Rubber Manufacturers Association (JRMA) is an organization that represents the corporations in rubber and rubber products industry in Japan. The organization strives for the sound development of the Japanese rubber industry as a whole:
Structure
■ Standing Committees
- General affairs
surveys and deliberates basic issues related to the management of the organization (revision and withdrawal of bylaws, planning of business programs and budget, etc.). - SME
surveys and deliberates issues on small-and-medium-sized enterprises in rubber industry. - Finance
surveys, deliberates, and makes requests to relevant organizations on financial and tax issues in rubber industry. - Logistics
surveys logistic issues in rubber industry. - Labor
surveys labor issues in rubber industry and liaises with relevant government offices and other organizations. - Health and safety
surveys health and safety issues in rubber industry and liaises with relevant government offices and other organizations. - Trade
surveys and deliberates issues on import and export of rubber products. - Environment
surveys and publicizes environmental issues under the following sub-committees:
1. CO2 (anti-global warming measures)
2. 3R [recycle, reduce and reuse] (establishment of recycle-based economic society)
3. Advanced environmental technologies
4. Environmental protection manual
5. Follow-up for VOC (volatile organic compounds) reduction.
■ National Committee for ISO/TC45
The National Committee for ISO/TC45 is commissioned by Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC) to deliberate International Standards on ISO/TC45 (Rubber and rubber products) and Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), participates in international meetings, and consists of 16 sub-committees below:

deals with nomenclature and abbreviation for rubber, thermoplastic elastomer, and related compounding
ingredients - Environmental aspects (WG16)
deals with guideline for environmental aspects related to rubber and rubber products - Industrial, chemical and oil hoses (SC1/WG1)
deals with specifications for industrial, chemical, and oil hoses of rubber and plastics - Automotive hoses (SC1/WG2)
deals with specifications for automotive hoses of rubber and plastics - Hydraulic hoses (SC1/WG3)
